Greensboro News & Record – Sunday Gardening Section

You know there has to be some EXCITING NEWS for me to sit at my computer two nights in a row to share this with you.  What’s up?

I hate to jump the gun on the Greensboro News & Record’s announcement, but if you don’t get the Sunday paper you might miss it!  Just in time for Spring, our LOCAL newspaper is introducing a LOCAL gardening section in the Sunday Life Section.  Starting THIS SUNDAY, March 22, 2015 subscribers in the Piedmont Triad will be reading about gardening news that is specific, timely and relevant to our own area!   N&R Life Section Editor, Cindy Loman, explains more below.

We’re launching a new feature today: “From Our Gardens.”
Local gardening experts will offer how-to articles, helpful gardening tips, information on what and when to plant in the Triad, plus a look at local gardens and garden events.
They also will answer your gardening questions.
“From Our Gardens” will run most Sundays in the Life section.
In the coming weeks, the column will include vegetable gardening, summer annuals and a guide to azaleas.
Coordinating this effort — and a pool of talented local contributors — are Ellen Ashley, owner of Garden Happy; Christina Larson, Extension Master Gardener volunteer; and John Whisnant, executive director of the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden.
We’re excited about this new partnership and hope you will be, too. As always, we welcome your feedback.
Send your questions to gardens@news-record.com.

If you do not get the Sunday paper, be sure to check online at:  News & Record Life Section online

This is also an open invitation to contribute to this publication.  Reply below and I will be happy to email you the N&R writer guidelines.  New gardeners often have wonderful “Aha! moments” that we can all relate too. Warm some hearts by sharing your story!

Ellen Ashley  Happy Spring.
